Enabling Medicare Easyclaim with Tyro

Set up Pracsoft for Medicare Easyclaim with Tyro devices.

About this task

The information below refers to Tyro device menus. If these menu references are different from what you see on your Tyro device, refer to your Tyro device's documentation for information.

Procedure

  1. Select Setup > Global Settings > Payment Types.
  2. In the Payment Type list, for the EFTPOS Auto payment type, set Acct and Visit.
  3. Set Activate Tyro EFTPOS/Medicare Easyclaim Integration.
  4. The Merchant IDs box lists the available bank accounts. For each bank account you want to use with Medicare Easyclaim, in the Merchant ID column, enter the merchant ID. Merchant IDs are supplied by Tyro.
  5. Click Save > OK.
  6. Pracsoft displays a message that to use Medicare Easyclaim, you will need to configure an EFTPOS/Easyclaim terminal for each workstation.
    • If your computer network does not use a proxy server to connect to the Internet, click Yes.
    • If your computer network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet, click No, then configure the proxy server:
      1. Click Setup > EFTPOS/Medicare Easyclaim > Proxy Settings.
      2. In the Connection Settings window, select either:
        • Auto-detect proxy settings for this network to retrieve the proxy details from Windows Internet Options.
        • Manual proxy configuration if you want to specify a proxy server. In the Http Proxy and Port fields, enter the proxy server's address and port number.
      3. Click OK.
      4. Click Setup > EFTPOS/Medicare Easyclaim > Terminal Configuration.
    Tip:
    If you are unsure about the way your practice's computer network connects to the Internet, contact your IT provider for advice.
To configure an EFTPOS / Easyclaim terminal:
  1. In the EFPOS Terminal Connection window, click Add Connection.
  2. In the Connect this PC to an EFTPOS Terminal window, enter:
    • Your Merchant ID. The Merchant ID is supplied by Tyro. It is accessible via the EFTPOS / Easyclaim terminal by selecting Menu > Merchant > Info on the device.
    • The Terminal ID for the EFTPOS/Easyclaim terminal connected to your computer network. The terminal ID is supplied by Tyro.
    • A unique Terminal Name for the EFTPOS/Easyclaim terminal, for example, FrontDesk.
    • Optionally, set Default Terminal if this EFTPOS/Easyclaim terminal will be the default used for Medicare Easyclaim processing. This is handy if there are multiple EFTPOS/Easyclaim terminals on your network. You can change this setting later.
  3. Click Connect.
  4. On the terminal, select Menu > Configuration (you might be asked for an admin password) > Integrated EFTPOS > Pair with POS > Connect.
  5. Pracsoft will attempt to connect with the EFTPOS/Easyclaim terminal. Enter your admin password.
  6. Click Yes to reset the current key. This needs to be done on the first workstation only; the key does not need to be reset for subsequent workstations.
  7. When the connection is successful, in the Easyclaim Terminal Connection window, the connected EFTPOS /Easyclaim terminal appears in the list of terminals.
  8. Click Close.

Results

Pracsoft can use Medicare Easyclaim with Tyro devices and the configured bank accounts.
