Apply Updated Options to Appointments

After changing Appointment Book options, apply those changes to existing appointments.

About this task

If you change the Appointment Book options, the changed options apply to all new appointments. Existing appointments are not updated. Use the Appointment Book Tools to update the existing appointments to match the new requirements. For example, if you added a requirement for patient phone numbers to be displayed in the Appointment Book, you could use the Appointment Book Tools to update existing appointments so they also display the patient phone numbers.

Note:

The Appointment Book Tools also remove comments and descriptions from existing appointments.

Procedure

To run an Appointment Book Tool:

Open the Appointment module. Either:
- Click Appointment Book.
- Select Waiting Room > Appointment Book.
Select Setup > Tools.
- Recalculate Descriptions - applies the updated options to all linked patient appointments on the selected date.
- Recalculate All Future Descriptions - applies the updated options to all future linked patient appointments in the entire Pracsoft database. This can take some time, depending on the size of the database.
- Recalculate X Days Descriptions - applies the updated options to all linked patient appointments for a specified number of days from the selected date. Enter the number of days from the current day you want to allow for.
Click Yes.

Results

The changed Appointment Book options are applied to the specified existing appointments.
