Transmit prepared claims to Medicare Online
Australia.
Before you begin
An Internet connection is required for transmitting
claims.It is not necessary to transmit claims immediately after they are
prepared but it is recommended so that in Step 1 - Selecting Claims you can accurately
distinguish between sent and unsent claims.
Procedure

Click Transmit to transmit the claims.
In the Transmit Claims window:
- Claims prepared but not transmitted should have a tick in
the Selected column. If you do not want to transmit a
claim at this time, unset Selected.
- Click Clear All to unset all of the
claims.
- Click Cancel to close this window
without transmitting any claims. You can transmit the prepared claims at a later
time without preparing them again.

To transmit the selected claims, click
Transmit. A message is displayed saying whether the
transmission succeeded or failed. This message is also logged in
hiconline.log.
Results
The bulk claim is transmitted to Medicare Australia
Online.
What to do next
Optionally, proceed to Step 5 - Requesting Medicare Australia Online Reports to request
processing reports (for resolving exceptions) or payment reports from Medicare.
