Step 2 - Preparing Claim Data for Transmission

Prepare selected claims for transmission.

About this task

The Prepare Claim Data tab displays the claims that you have selected to prepare. If necessary, you can edit a voucher here before processing it.

Procedure

  1. In the Prepare Claim Data tab, click Prepare.
  2. Check that the correct claims have been selected for processing.
    • If you are using a location certificate only and the practitioner on whose behalf you are preparing the claim does not use an individual token, the claim will process after you click Yes.
    • If you are preparing claims for a practitioner who uses an individual token, they must insert the individual token or iKey and type their password.
    • If a claim has been prepared successfully, a message is displayed.
    • If issues are discovered, they are displayed in this window and recorded in the hiconline.log, which is in the Pracsoft home directory on your computer.
  3. If a claim fails preparation:
    1. Take note of the reasons displayed, for example, invalid provider number or invalid data item.
    2. Click Edit.
    3. Correct the claims as necessary.
    4. Click Processing > Online Claiming and attempt to process the claims again.
    Tip:
    The procedure for correcting issues with immunisations claims is different.
  4. When all claims have processed successfully, click Next Step.
