Removing Patients from the Waiting Room

- Searching for Patients
  Search for patients using a standard or advanced search, by swiping a patient's Medicare card or by name in the Patient Details window.
- Adding New Patients
  Add new patients to Pracsoft.
- Editing Patient Records
  Edit a patient's demographics, contact details, emergency contacts, and so on.
- Merging Patient Records
  Merge duplicate patient records.
- Referrals
  Attach a referral to a patient record.
- Waiting Room
  The Waiting Room is where you track the movements of patients in your actual Waiting Room at your Practice.

    When a patient arrives, review their contact details, mobile number and opt them into receiving SMS messages if they grant permission.

    If you have numerous computers on your network with the Waiting Room open simultaneously, it may take a moment to refresh the data on each computer, during which patients who have been recently added to the Waiting Room may not appear.

Removing Patients from the Waiting Room

Occasionally you may need to remove a patient from the Waiting Room, if for example they decided to leave the Practice before visiting the Practitioner. The following information explains how to remove a patient from the Waiting Room. Note that if you want to simply transfer a patient to another Practitioner, you do not need to remove them from the Waiting Room first.

To remove a patient from the Waiting Room:

Procedure

Locate and select the patient in the Waiting Room. The entire row for that patient becomes highlighted.
Then, either:
- Press ALT + E
- Click
- Select Waiting Room > Remove from Waiting Room.
You will be prompted to confirm this action. Optionally, you can flag this patient as 'not seen'. Patients flagged in this way are added to the Not Seen report.
